Nervous dogs, older dogs and first visits
Some dogs need to take it slowly. We groom one dog at a time, in a relaxed environment, and we’re Canine First Aid trained. A free meet & treat consultation is a gentle way to start.
We rescued our then, 1 yr old German Shepherd in December this year and started bringing him to Michael a few weeks later. Blue was a very nervous boy and really struggled to cope with the grooming process so we backed off and started taking him for regular 15 minute appointments where he’d have a brush and loads of positive reinforcement from Michael. The love, patience and understanding he’s shown to Blue has been lovely. Last week he had his first full groom and coped amazingly well. Michael has been fabulous and I’m so happy we found him to help us get Blue to the stage he’s now at! I think anyone that is on FurReals books knows how lucky we are to have him ❤️ thanks for everything Michael xx

In the show ring with Roisin
We show, too. Our poodle Roisin placed 3rd at Crufts 2025 and qualified for Crufts 2026, at just 10 months old and only months after she was introduced to the show ring.
“I am absolutely over the moon to share that Roisin placed 3rd at Crufts today and qualified for crufts 2026! To think this little lady was only introduced to the show ring in November, and now, at just 10 months old, she has taken on the biggest stage with confidence and grace beyond her years.”
What owners say
My 2.5 year old GSD Finley had a full Manuka Honey bath/groom today at FurReal Dog Grooming, expertly done by Michael!
Such fantastic service and the results speak for themselves as Fin looks and smells amazing! (He’s also walking proudly like, “yeah look at me!” 🤣
I’ve recently moved to the area and was looking for a professional groomer. Very pleased I went with my first choice! I was a little anxious about leaving him as it’s a new place for him, but I knew he was in capable hands as Fin ran straight in ready to be pampered! Michael is super friendly too and was excellent with him! 👏
Would defiantly recommend FurReal as the results are exceptional!
- Duncan & Finley!
Michael has a very special bond with our dog Cookie. She was initially nervous of being groomed but with Michael’s patience and cuddles, they are the best of friends. Our toy poodle always looks her best after seeing Michael and now bounces in to see him on her back legs. He takes great care with his work and always gives her a cut that we like. Would 100% recommend.
What an absolute gem of a find Michael is.
He’s kind and caring with your dog and understands your dogs needs.
My Rough Collie was very knotty and he did a remarkable job of making her feel comfortable again and she looked stunning!!
I have a feeling it won’t be long before his diary is very very full.
So pleased we found him 🐾❤️
Our boy is 12 and has recently gone fully blind which has been a struggle for him and us as he crnt walk up and down stairs without panicking so the bath is a huge task. We wanted to get him bathed and freshened up and we saw furreals amazing reviews on fb. From meeting you we was immediately at ease knowing how you could assist him and he had the best time with you, he’s so happy, soft and fluffy, his claws are amazing, he smells so beautiful and he’s a very content pooch tonight so thank you. ☺️
